Our support to The Vinnytsia Institute for Disability and Rehabilitation Research

The Vinnytsia Institute for Disability and Rehabilitation Research is located far away from the frontlines, but the doctors there are fighting every day for the lives of Ukrainian defenders who arrive daily with severe combat injuries. Due to service demand pressures, medical staff shortages and an increased number of wounded soldiers, some patients have been waiting for their amputations for months. They don't have access to their relatives or any financial support.
With the harsh winter ahead, Galyna Rudyk reached out to Maple Hope Foundation for help. Thanks to the support of our donors, Maple Hope was able to help Galyna purchase gloves, shoes, warm jackets, and even smartphone stands for severely injured and mobility-impaired patients. In addition, we also shipped crucial medical equipment and medical supplies to this hospital.
“When the full-scale war began, I wanted to join the Ukrainian Armed Forces, but I understood that my health would not make me of much use. Therefore, I decided to continue the volunteer work that I had been doing since 2014, helping provide soldiers on the front lines with everything they need. I remembered how my husband needed help, attention, and a kind word after his injury during the Revolution of Dignity at Maidan in 2014. So I stayed here and to this day I try to be as useful as possible to the people who protected me at the cost of their health."
